Transgender Emergency Fund of MA

Due to the high homelessness rates within the Transgender and Gender non-confirming individuals’ communities across Massachusetts the Transgender Emergency Fund of MA INC was created to assist these individuals with homelessness prevention, rental start-up, nutrition, and personal supplies. While everyone deserves assistance, these individuals are often discriminated against while trying to obtain basic social services. According to a report from Boston Indicators, almost two-thirds (65 percent) of Massachusetts’ transgender people report experiencing discrimination in public spaces in the past year. And 17 percent of trans- gender people were living in poverty in 2015, compared to 11.5 percent of the general population. TEF has created services specifically for Transgender/Gender non-confirming individuals across Massachusetts.
