The Okra Project

The Okra Project is a mutual aid collective that provides support to Black Trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming people. The Okra Project was founded in December 2018, with the intention of alleviating some of the loneliness Black Trans people can experience during the holiday season. The Okra Project has blossomed and now provides assistance year-round. Its purpose is to provide resources for and eradicate loneliness among Black Trans folks. The Okra Project team is committed to finding unconventional solutions to radically support the Black Trans community.
