Rodney and Daphine Machokoto

Rodney and Daphine Machokoto are the owners and founders of Machokoto Family Farms/Edenic Gardens—a three-pronged hybrid entity that includes two social enterprises and their nonprofit. Edenic Gardens’ goal is to help build local food systems and make fresh foods more accessible to low-income individuals. Their main clients are food banks, other organizations feeding disadvantaged families, and those supporting COVID-relief efforts. Their nonprofit, the CHIGS Program, partners with organizations that have access to unutilized or under-utilized land and helps them transform it into productive agricultural land that will feed more families and generate income.
