One in Four Films

sponsored by Southern Documentary Fund

32 Blocks is a documentary that dives into the collective origins and careers of music innovators, pioneers, and legends, most of whom are from the Church Hill neighborhood in Richmond, VA. The film explores their under-acknowledged contributions and global impact of their work, and that of other artists who spent time in Richmond. The film focuses on their multi-generational brotherhood, interconnectivity, personal stories, and factors that shaped them as individuals and artists. 32 Blocks goes beyond these artists’ musical successes and challenges. It provides a rich understanding of history, culture, healing, and community.
