Monica Esparza

Monica Esparza is an educator, author, and trustee of the Image Church – Renewal of Life Land Trust, one of the oldest land trusts in the United States. Delving into the intersections of equity and ecology, the trust encourages indigenous land stewardship, accessibility, and the expansion of natural resources. Incorporating history and culture, conservation service projects include sites such as the Hickory Hill School, the African Burial Grounds in Richmond, Prince Edward State Park, and the Appomattox watershed in Virginia. With community, Monica maintains a sacred garden (apple orchard), grows hemp for bioremediation, and is working to produce a related film.
