Maria Dominique Villanueva

Dominique Villanueva (she/her) is the Co-Founder of Fountain Heights Farms, a Black-centered urban farm in Birmingham, AL. Fountain Heights Farms provides fresh produce to 50 neighbors and the wider community each week. Dominique has spent her career in various settings but has always focused on health and justice for oppressed communities. In addition to her justice work, she is also involved in local mutual aid work, serves as a member of the Southern SARE Administrative Council, is on the board of the RAFI – USA, and is a coalition member with Hunger-Free Alabama. Dominique has a particular interest in using the oppressive tax codes of Alabama against their intended purpose by returning land to Black and Indigenous folx.
