Heidi Rider

I am a queer, Vegas-based visual and performing artist who is deeply influenced by a uniquely nomadic upbringing rooted in white American working class culture. I grew up crafting with limited resources and I still love working with trashy materials. It’s freeing. I’m never happy just working on stage or only creating in my studio. I need to be doing both and ideally, at the same time. My work embraces my crooked teeth, my cartoon mouse voice, and my obsession with toilet paper tubes and macaroni art. It must be ugly and beautiful and buoyant and sad. And, most importantly, funny.
