Encampment for Citizenship (EFC)
The Encampment provides year-round programming that includes: a three-week-long immersive program in participatory democracy for young people (ages 15-18) coming from different-cultural, class and geographic backgrounds from across the U.S. and beyond; four months of intergenerational follow-up programming for Encampers to get support for their action plans; and the Pesticide-Free Soil Project focused on environmental justice.
The EFC provides inspiration and a deeper understanding of current issues — their intersectionality and context, and examples and strategies for working for justice and addressing social issues. In addition, the EFC develops facilitation, research, interviewing, organizing, public speaking skills, and engagement strategies.
