Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Family Homeless Shelter

Homelessness on the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (CRST) reservation is on the rise due to lack of housing and resources. To address the homelessness, the CRST established and funds three types of shelters, one being the Family Homeless Shelter in the community of Eagle Butte. The CRST Family Homeless Shelter is a Tribal Program that provides a temporary living situation and assists in securing permanent homes. During their stay, the Shelter provides a safe place, advocacy for employment, education, housing, and family reunification for those families whose children are in Department of Social Services custody.
