Carmen Mojica

Carmen Mojica is a Black Dominican woman born and raised in the Bronx. She is a certified professional midwife, writer and reproductive health activist. The focus of her work is on the empowerment of women and people of the African Diaspora. She utilizes her experience as a midwife to raise awareness on maternal and infant health, highlighting the disparities in the healthcare system in the United States for women of color. Recently, she also co-founded Bx (Re)Birth and Progress Collective, which is a maternal health activist organization focused on families in the Bronx that need doula support and essential items during the pandemic.
