Benevolence Farm

Benevolence Farm seeks to cultivate leadership, promote sustainable livelihoods, and reap structural change with individuals impacted by the criminal legal system in North Carolina. Founded in 2008, Benevolence Farm supports the needs of formerly incarcerated women in North Carolina. With concerns about the rising rates of recidivism for women leaving prisons, the missional premise was formed—to be a safe place for a second chance. Benevolence Farm now operates a residential program for formerly incarcerated women and manages a sustainable farming and body care enterprise. To date, Benevolence has served over 28 women and provided reentry resources to dozens of people across the state of North Carolina each year.
