Alaska Native Birth Workers

Our mission is to serve Native birthing families to feel supported, well cared for, and full of the information they need to make confident choices around reproductive health, birthing, and parenthood. In doing this, we seek to reclaim as well as create new ceremony and heal our ancestors, ourselves and future generations who may have been harmed through the colonization of our bodies, healthcare, and birthing practices. All of our services, community programming and organizing center three primary goals: 1) Provide free direct and indirect services to Native birthing families in Alaska, 2) Grow a cohort of trained Indigenous birthworkers to serve Native birthing families in Alaska, and 3) Support systemic change to better support Native birthing families in Alaska.
